Remembering the night shows of 1979 at Blackpoint:
Marilyn (Legs) Prince Letchworth says Jim Bohlin was dashing as a gangster
(pre gansta) in a fine suit. Patty Farber did Mare's hair up in 40's waves
for the show.
It was indeed 1979, a couple of weeks before I "met" Marilyn, ending
a street improv with a kiss between her Mary Buckle character and my Pantalone.
It was so much fun, we went backstage (later the Red Barrel at Blackpoint)
to kiss some more. We are still kissing.
There were three Commedia troupes that year, thanks to Peg Long. It was the
first year for us, La Famiglia Bologna, so we were in the Night show audience.
Of the other commedias, one was led by Bret Kuhn and Gillian Bagwell, the
other group was lead by none other than Capitano David Springhorn. Those were
the guys onstage with Jim.
That was also the year of the Scot & Commedia war.
Marilyn was doing a physical comedy show "The Icy Cock's Crow" with
Jonathan Cripple, Jim Borass of Once Inn Favor and Michael Cawalti. It was
complete with a "period" rubber chicken.
I saw Patty Farber and her Mom at a restaurant in San Francisco a couple of
months ago. They are doing fine.
