Greg
Dana is a puppeteer and virtuoso on some very obscure instruments, including
bowed psaltery, tabor pipe, and Bernais string drum. The Folk music magazine
Dirty Linen said "He takes the narrow range of the bowed psaltery and does
a nice job of expanding it," and the South China Morning Post called his
show "Extraordinary, comic, and in a strange way beautiful." His show
is uniquely hard to categorize - he is an adept storyteller as well as a musician,
and some of his puppets are musical instruments and vice versa. For the last
ten years he has performed in Asia and Europe, and his original pieces have
both medeival and Oriental influences. (Note to Renaissance Faire participants:
Yes, this is the Greg Dana who created the Bones Band!) This is his first Southern
California appearance in over ten years - come out to the Diplomat and delight
in his whimsical variety show!
Available
for puppet theatre in English, Spanish and Japanese languages.

Gregoland
Grego is most known to the Fools for his leadership and creation of "The
Danse Macabre" or "Bones Band" which roamed the streets of
Rennaisance Pleasure Faire in both Agoura and Blackpoint.
Grego was my director and I danced in the parade for several years along with
stage managing.
Grego was also well known for the "Five at Five" ale-stand jam which
he perfomed along with Irv Gershenz at Southern Faire
in Agoura
For over a decade he has resided in Tokyo where he lives with his wife and
performs in may festivals all over the world.
Grego has been a frequent participant in the Foolslistserver and a dedicated
part of that international organ of The Fools Guild since the very start,
helping to organize some of the first cyber-promoted parties and performances
in The Fools Guild History.
