When I joined, a little over a year ago, I felt the same wonder and awakenings of memories. But all that has evolved. Today, it is knowing that old friends are just an email away. Before Teahouse and Face Book, it was hit or miss, but still in contact with a select few that I have kept in touch with over the years. Also, those folks that I do get to see at the Tahoe Ren Faire (I live just down the hill from Tahoe). The down side is that we get to hear almost first hand about those who pass, and that is growing too quickly. I am glad that you found Teahouse and FB. There are more and more folks finding their way home.

You just don't look right without your fuzzy black hat! (Sorry I haven't responded before now. Been sick the last couple of days, and having a short period of feeling okay-ish at the moment. ) Now, if you'd looked at my a.k.a. list, you would have seen it says "FL's Mobile USO". ;-D

Appolonia stole my cope of Bowie reading "Peter and the Wolf". Just looking at the album gives me time warp. That was one unexpected thing about parentinmg how much they love my music. I have two now, the youngest is still at home at 19 getting ready for college next year in eureka.

Hi Kevin. Thank's for friending me. It's been a real long time. I am doing well and living up in Nevada a little south of Carson City. Sadly we can't make it to Catherder's as we will probably be moving down to Vegas. But next year. What have you been up to? so because of this obsession with bowies just right at that time, when i became an adapter of cd's there werent very many yet, and even though I tried to replace all my vinyl it was hard to stay focused since i listen to a lot of hiphop also, and so I have barely any bowie albums even though i swear I have owned them all like twice at least and some on tape as well. So really all that I have is like heroes, and of course the stuff he recorded in west berlin that his record company would never ever let him release back when.of course now if you want to hear any song just use youtube.

during university I read a lot of correspondence, like especially Henry Miller and Lawrence Durrel, and they talk about how everything changed after world war one started, like the color and hilarity drained out of life, and sometimes I think that that is how it was for us when John Lennon died. Its like it was all so real and painful at the time that I had actually forgotten, its good to remember I suspect you bring a chunk of "new" memories. I think the gist of the conversation about Bowie had something to do with him having to go live in the Turkish section in order to be a regular joe again, in order to experience life properly enough in order to be able to make music and art again. This would explain why I moved to Humboldt a place where I am seen as my fathers daughter, and as my childrens mother, not much else. Here I am just another Humboldt honey getting chard and rice and the store.

Time did slow down for us that night. I am still sorta good at predicting stuff, partly because I like to make stuff happen. Like how do i get them to dredge the mouth of the eel river? do I have to talk to the whales? those are my strange thoughts early in the morning when speaking to a pal who is into radical eco reconstruction.

hella hellsa hella yeah. When Bowie was living in the turkish quarter of berlin I think he made some of his best music ever. I still think of that. Trippy that you found "the spot", God and to think that we have survived so far...amazing.

if we can get cellulastic algae, cellulose producing algae to eat the plastic waste. and if we can over come the cell lysis issues well then of course you simply make new plastic out of the algae. yeah the guys at solazyme first were thinking of biodiesel and then they realized its food grade oil.

Ah, yes. The hair. Danese, Vicky Nebeker and I were talking on Saturday night and I mentioned how I used to walk on the lot at night with no flashlight but people would know who I was by the silhouette of the hair alone!
